Church Picnic

Romania in the distance…waaay in the distance!

August 20th is a national holiday in Hungary. It would be like their version of the 4th of July. The nation celebrated their 1,016th birthday. Seems like the country is aging gracefully. (^_^)

We went to a church wide picnic outside town and a had a great time. It was a bright sunny day, and we made the most of it with outdoor activities. We cut fire wood, played football (both kinds), ate grilled chicken and fresh corn on the cob (plus other goodies the ladies brought), hiked, saw a lake, the kids rode horses, and enjoyed a train ride there and back. It was a LOOOONG day, but very enjoyable. Eli enjoyed it a little too much and got sick from being too hot, but thankfully he is better now.

Below is a slide show of pics from the day, and a video of the train ride back. It was beautiful and I really enjoyed the time out. I hope you enjoy getting a little bit of Hungary today! (^_^)
